Roberto has represented clients facing many types of criminal matters including simple and serious assaults, theft, possession and trafficking of drugs, as well as driving related offences. Roberto also has vast experience in appealing all types of driving prohibitions, including Immediate Roadside Prohibitions. Through his work, Roberto has prepared arguments in relation to the application of the drinking and driving laws and is versed on the internal policies and practices of the Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles as well as ICBC.

In his criminal practice, Roberto provides legal representation on sentencing hearings, bail hearings, applications to change bail and peace bond conditions, delay applications and all court appearances a client must make when facing criminal charges. Roberto also possesses great experience in running full trials with complex legal issues.

In Child Protection matters, Roberto has represented clients in court to defend them against Ministry child removals. Roberto routinely represents clients in mediations, family case conferences, as well as presentation and protection hearings. Roberto’s approach in child apprehension matters is to work closely with the Director at the Ministry of Children and Family Development and social workers while strongly advocating for the parents in order to reach the best result for his clients. Roberto has also effectively carried out applications to vary access and child support, both through court applications as well as through negotiations with opposite parties.

Roberto also has experience preparing separation agreements, cohabitation agreements and divorces. In this regard, Roberto focuses on addressing all of his client’s concerns in a thorough and diligent manner that helps reduce the stress that often surrounds these matters.

Roberto is fluent in Spanish, and offers services to the Spanish speaking community all throughout British Columbia. Roberto also provides notarization of documents, including the notarization of traveling letters from one parent to another, affidavits and documents that need to go outside of Canada.
